Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 September 2026

These terms govern your use of patternbuilderwp.com (the “Service”), operated by Twenty Bellows (“we”, “us”). The Service is a cloud library and directory for WordPress block patterns, used through the Pattern Builder plugin. By creating an account, connecting a site, or subscribing to Pattern Builder Pro, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

1. The plugin and the Service

Pattern Builder is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. Its licence, not these terms, governs the plugin itself. These terms govern the Service: the account you create, the patterns you store with us, the collections we publish, and the subscription that opens the premium collections.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old, or the age at which you can enter into a contract where you live, whichever is higher.
  • Give us accurate information and keep your email address current; the Service reaches you at that address to confirm it, to reset your password and to tell you about your account.
  • Your handle is chosen once. It is the permanent name your account publishes under and the first part of the name of every pattern in it, so it cannot be changed once the account holds patterns.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your credentials and for the sites you connect. Disconnect a site you no longer control from your account page or from the plugin.
  • One person, one account. An account is not a team; teams are a planned separate offering.

3. Your patterns

You own what you upload. So that the Service can do its job, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store your patterns and the images in them, to make copies of those images on our own hosting, to render previews, and to deliver all of it to any site connected to your account. That licence ends when you delete a pattern or your account, except for copies in routine backups, which are rotated out on their own schedule.

You promise that you have the rights needed to upload what you upload — in particular that every image in a pattern is yours to use and to let us host — and that nothing you store is unlawful, infringing, or harmful. Every collection on the Service is private unless we or a publisher we have invited makes it public; nothing you upload is ever listed without that grant.

4. Published collections, and the patterns you install

The directory holds collections published by Twenty Bellows and by partner studios and theme authors we have invited. When you install a pattern from a published collection, it is licensed to you under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later, the same licence as WordPress: you may use it on any number of sites, for any purpose, and change it as you like. An installed pattern records the name of the pattern it came from; that record is attribution and you may keep or remove it.

Premium collections may be installed only by an account with an active Pattern Builder Pro subscription. Patterns already installed on your sites remain yours to use, under the same licence, whether or not the subscription continues.

5. Publishers

Publishing a collection is by invitation. A publisher promises that they hold the rights to everything in a published collection and that it may be distributed under the licence in section 4, and agrees that we may unpublish a collection, or withdraw the invitation, at any time. Publishing terms beyond these are agreed with each publisher separately.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not upload malware, code disguised as markup, or content you do not have the right to use. Every pattern is checked on the way in and again when it is published; content that fails the checks is refused or withheld.
  • Do not try to work around the limits of your plan, share one account between people, or automate the Service beyond what the plugin and its documented abilities do.
  • “Unlimited” carries fair-use limits that protect the Service for everyone. A request past one is refused with a message; get in touch and we will sort it out.
  • Do not use the Service to harass, deceive or harm anybody.

7. Pattern Builder Pro

Pattern Builder Pro is a subscription on your account, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown on the Pro page when you subscribe. Our payments are handled by Freemius, Inc., which acts as the merchant of record: Freemius takes your payment, issues your invoice, handles sales tax, and holds your card details. We never see your card number.

  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each term until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops renewal; what you have paid for runs to the end of its term.
  • If Pro is not what you expected, ask for a refund within 14 days of a first purchase and we will make it.
  • When a subscription ends, nothing is taken away. Everything you stored stays readable and installable; you just cannot add to what is then over the free limits until you delete or subscribe again.
  • Prices may change; a change takes effect at your next renewal, and we will tell you before it does.

8. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deleting it removes your patterns, your collections and every connection to your sites; patterns already installed on those sites are ordinary local patterns and stay where they are. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may remove content that does, with notice where the law allows it. If we discontinue the Service we will give you reasonable notice and time to download what you have stored.

9. Reporting content

Every published pattern carries a Report action. To report content you believe infringes your rights, including under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, email support@twentybellows.com with the pattern’s address, the work you believe is infringed, your contact details and a statement that you are the rights holder or act for them. We respond to complete notices promptly, remove content that infringes, and tell the account that uploaded it.

10. What we do not promise

The Service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law will not let us exclude. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a pattern will look on your site the way it does in a preview. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising out of the Service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms. A material change is announced on this page and by email to account holders before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that is acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and any dispute is heard in its courts. Questions go to support@twentybellows.com.
